Administration Building

Plumbing work has been the main project happening over the past month. The construction team dug the hole for the septic tank. They dug a 15-foot circular hole for the soak pit, which is where the water from sinks and showers is directed. Manholes were dug. Plumbing appliances, like the sinks and toilets, were brought to the property and installed.

Summer Mission Team

Visitors from the US came for a week. We were able to do outreach at the local government school. We separated the primary school into three different age groups and taught them songs, gave them coloring pages, played games with them like jump rope, and provided candy and a snack. The team brought new jump ropes and balls for the kids, which they love! The team shared the Gospel message with all the kids over the three-day program. We taught some how to play kickball, too. That was funny to watch!!!! Haha! I'm too competitive and don't know enough Luganda to teach a bunch of 10-year-olds the concept of kickball. They enjoyed it though! :) I praise God for the ladies who came and volunteered so that we could provide the program at the local school, something that I'm unable to accomplish on my own. It was nice having them come and be a part of sharing the Truth with all these kids!

Weekly Bible Reading with Mama Dora

I started meeting with Mama Dora again each week to read the Bible. On one of these days, her sister was around visiting her, so she met with us, as well. We are now starting to read through John. It's a blessing to be able to read through with her and help explain some basic information that she was unaware of, like learning that the John who wrote the Gospel of John was different from John the Baptist. It is cool, though to see some of the things she does know like John the Baptist being a cousin to Jesus. She knows more than many others, I believe. We are praying, talking, and planning how to have worship services in the community.

Bible Study in the Village - Saturdays

We continue to have Bible study in the village on Saturdays. Two of the Saturdays in July were missed due to the mission team being here and other program we had as well as a local school had a performance on one of the Saturdays. In two weeks, the kids will be on holiday again so we will go back to meeting twice a week instead of the just once a week.

Here in the first picture is my passion fruit plant that is growing very nicely.

Mama Dora is in the second picture. July was harvest time for the beans. I helped Alisa and Mama Dora to uproot the dried beans. Then Alisa beat them on a tarp to separate the hull from the beans.

It's dry season now, and so it's very hot with lots of sunshine. I'm blessed to have running water so I can water the few plants that I have still growing during this time. In a couple of weeks, rainy season should be upon us, which means it will be time to plant again!
