Delight in the Lord Kindergarten 2027
Delight in the Lord Kindergarten is set to open on February 1, 2027, God willing, with the first Baby class. We are so close to the finish line. Please continue to pray as we seek to glorify God through our plans and preparations to open DLK. May He receive all the glory!!

UPDATE: Classroom Blocks
The second classroom block received its interior coat of paint and window glass for all windows. Both classroom blocks now have an exterior primer coat and are waiting for the final exterior paint color.
UPDATE: Trinity Chapel
The Trinity Chapel has received an interior and exterior coat of white primer. The team has begun painting the inside a light gray.
Trinity Chapel is coming along beautifully! The interior painting is now complete.
The installation of the glass in the windows and doors is finished. Look at the beautiful, colored glass in the upper section of the windows and doors. It is beautiful when the sun shines through.
The Trinity Chapel will be solely used for Chapel for the school children. The final step is to give this beautiful chapel its exterior paint. May God be glorified and honored by this beautiful building.

Water Tank and Stand for the Current Coffee Plantation
Our metal fabricator recently constructed a sturdy tank stand just above the coffee plantation. This tank will allow us to water the crops during the dry season. The plumber has set up the tank and connected the water pipeline. Even now, Erisa has enjoyed watering the coffee plants with way less stress.

Leveling the grounds of the School Compound
In mid-August, we leveled the grounds of the school compound, where the classroom blocks are located. The playground will be located near that large shade tree. We have many projects going on as we prepare for our first group of Baby Class students, who are scheduled to begin on February 1, 2027, God willing! Glory to God!

Preparing for Grass Planting on the School Compound
After the leveling, topsoil from within the property had to be ferried to the newly smoothed-out school compound area. This rich topsoil will help the grass grow much better once it is planted. We are awaiting the rainy season to begin planting grass sprigs in this area.
Two of our construction guys started spreading out the topsoil. Two other guys were hired to break up the clumps of soil and level it out even more.

Clearing the Lower Section of the Property
In mid-August, we brought in machinery to clear the bush from the lower section of the property. A fresh spring just outside the 17-acre compound flows into this lower section, making it very wet and boggy. While the operator was working, he saw many snakes hiding in the bush.
This area will be the future site of our second coffee plantation and will also include matoke trees. The coffee will be a cash crop that will provide income for our other agricultural needs. The plan is that our seasonal harvest will provide food for the children attending our school. Once the matoke trees begin producing, we will add that to our food supply. The field in the distance belongs to our neighbor, but ours will be similar to his field.

Trench Work on the Lower Section of the Property
Our original plan was to hire community members to dig the trenches by hand. The trenches needed to be dug before the rainy season starts in a couple of weeks, so we were pushed for time. After considering the costs and the time to complete the project, we decided to hire a machine to dig the trenches. It was a good decision because many parts were far more complicated than expected and would have been very difficult if done by hand.
Because the fresh spring, just outside the property, flows into this area, it is extremely wet and floods during the rainy season. It was critical to get the trenches dug before planting the coffee and matoke trees in this area.
The sun was so very hot with no shade!!! I was burning even with sunscreen applied and had to cover my neck, face, and upper back with one of my dresses! :)
We also opened up the flow of another natural spring on our property where our goats stay and get their water from. This area was also very bushy, so the machine cleared out a lot of the overgrowth. We unblocked the blockage that was stopping the water from flowing, which had caused the water to become stagnant. Unfortunately, two of our goats died from drinking the stagnant water.

Adult Village Bible Study
Our Adult Village Bible Study met on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Up to this point, we had been meeting on Thursday afternoons. Today was our first time meeting together on a Sunday. The turnout was great, and because it was on a Sunday, some guys from the construction team were able to come, too!
Masiko Church of Uganda Primary School shows Special Recognition
On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Masiko, the local government school, presented me with a plaque of appreciation during their parent meeting. They expressed deep appreciation for my involvement and for the support we’ve brought through our donors. It was very sweet. Glory to God!
