DLM Newsletter December 2022

Church and Bible study today. We talked about the Ten Commandments and how Jesus expounds in them. He tells us in Matthew 5:21 and 22 regarding the 5th commandment, “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.”
We are very thankful for His grace and mercy since none of us can keep his law perfectly!

Brian and I had a meeting today with the parents of children in our educational sponsorship program. My Bible study kids helped clean the classroom, arrange the desks, sign in parents, pass out and pick up papers, explain and help parents filling out the papers, and cleaning things up. I love them and how they love to serve. We also shared the gospel with the parents. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 ESV “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures…” Proud of my kiddos and how God is making them more like Him! Glory to God Alone!

There was a sweet surprise at church today. One of the Bible study girls was at church when I showed up with some other Bible study kids. Was so cool that she came herself. Praise to the Lord!
In Bible study, we made our program for tomorrow when we are going to share the gospel in the local community. We are praying and trusting God to guide the program, plant seeds in hearts, change hearts, and above all, receive all the glory! We are thankful for the opportunity we will have tomorrow. Glory to God Alone!

The kids and I were blessed today to be able to share the gospel in the local community. We were all a bit nervous and feeling uncomfortable, but God gave us courage and strength to share. We prayed before and after and are so thankful we aren’t responsible for winning people to Christ and their salvation. We are commanded to share the gospel, and we can rest assured knowing God will use His words to fulfill His purpose in people’s lives. That brought us much peace and comfort. We were very blessed that God gave us the opportunity to share His word and be obedient to His commands, and therefore bringing glory to Him, which is our purpose in life!
When sharing, we highlighted how God is a Holy God and just, though will not leave the guilty unpunished. Exodus 34:6-7
We talked about who we are as sinful men with no one being righteous and seeking after God. Romans 3:10-19
We reviewed the 10 commandments found in Exodus 20:3-17. We expounded how Jesus says in Matthew 5:21-22 even having hatred in your heart toward another brings about same judgement as the act of murder.
As sinners, we deserve God’s anger and judgment. Romans 3:20
Romans 6:23 says the wages of our sin is death.
Here comes the good news. In Romans 8:3-4, we are told that Jesus fulfilled the law that no man could keep. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 shows us the gospel is the good news that Jesus died for His peoples sins, was buried, rose on the 3rd day, and is seated at the right hand of God.
Our plea to those hearing our voices was for them to repent and believe, as found in verses like Acts 2:37-41 and Mark 1:15. Jesus is the only way. John 14:6. We explained our inability to come to Jesus without the Holy Spirit changing our hearts and the Father drawing us to the Son. John 6:44.
We ended with praying for everyone who heard the Word, that God would be merciful to them, like He has been to us, to save them and urging them to repent of their sins against a Holy God and believe in the Gospel for salvation.

Today was the final day with these Bible study kids. Next year, God willing, they will continue on to secondary school. Many will go to boarding school, and I won’t see them much except a couple weeks during their holiday time.
It was so sad saying bye to them. I thanked the Lord for the time He has given us together over the past 3 years! It has been such a blessing! Next year, I’ll start meeting with a new group of kids. I’m thanking God for how He has worked in the hearts of these kids and praying they continue to share the truth with others, wherever God leads them. May they bring glory to His name! Glory to God Alone!

We visited the Ark Encounter yesterday and the Creation Museum today! They were both so informative and fun to experience. Most importantly, all the information was biblically accurate and based on the authority of scripture. Blessed to experience that. Glory to God.
