My friend’s baby had another round of immunizations on Monday! In Uganda, immunizations for children are free of charge.

The walls are going up!! Brian’s team is working hard and fast.

The water pump system has also been installed. It effectively pumps water from the well to the black tank. Glory to God Alone for all the work being done!

After church today, I went by the school to briefly visit with the primary 7 children. All primary 7 children in Uganda will have their primary leaving exam on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please be in prayer for our sponsor kids and all primary 7 candidates taking exams this week. I took this photo and then prayed for them. We pray God receives the glory through it all!

Today was such a fun day at the ministry home construction site. The videos explain what’s going on! Now that the walls have been partially completed, it is time for a ring beam to be placed on top of the walls. Once the ring is completed and cured, more brick layers will be added on top to finish up the stage of the walls.

Brian’s team is great! Glory to God Alone!!

Unfortunately, I am still fighting some kind of bacterial infection. I did not feel well on Friday and decided to seek medical care from the International hospital near my house. I missed Bible Study and church yesterday because the sickness continued throughout the weekend. After receiving an IV treatment once daily for the past 3 days, I am beginning to feel better. I have 2 more days of IV treatment remaining before the review appointment. Thanks for all the prayers for me and the ministry!!

Thank you all for praying for the primary 7 students who took their exams last week. They are now on break from school until February or March when they get their results and can apply for secondary school.

I met with a few of those kids today for Bible study. One of the verses we looked at was Psalm 65:4. “Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple!” ESV

We met in a community member’s compound. As a way to appreciate her and as a way to practice serving others like Jesus served, the kids and I swept up the leaves in her compound. Glory to God Alone!

I was able to take a couple of boys to the movie theater yesterday. These are the two boys that come to church with me each Sunday. It was the first time either of them had been to a movie theater.

The theaters here are very nice with seats that lean back and even some that recline almost to a sleeping position. The prices are much lower here. We went Thursday so the price was cheaper than the price during the weekend. A ticket was less than $4.50. Because it was 3D, we had to buy 3D glasses for each of us. Here, you have to buy them, but you also keep them and can reuse each time you go to a 3D movie. The glasses each cost less than $2.50. Of course, we had to get bags of popcorn. Each bag was $2, and a hotdog also cost $2. The theater is in a mall, so we got some ice cream on the way out. It’s made in-house and is $2.50 per scoop.

The boys were surprised at how much things cost, though quite cheap compared to prices at movie theaters in the States. At the theater here in Uganda, a small plastic bottle of soda is less than $1.50. That same bottle in local shops would cost less than 50 cents. Now, you can see why the boys were surprised how expensive things were!

We all thanked God for the time we enjoyed and for everyone who supports this ministry giving us these opportunities! Glory to God Alone!

Today, Brian and I went to the land to see the progress of the walls of the ministry home. It’s very close to completion. We are lacking one more layer of bricks on top, and then this stage will be finished. The next stage will be the roof and ceiling, which will cost about $25,000. Will you help us reach this next goal? So very thankful for everyone who supports DLM with faithful prayers and generous giving. Glory to God Alone!

In Bible study yesterday, we worked through our next questions in the Truth and Grace (TAG) Memory Books: Book 1 by Tom Ascol of Founders Ministries.

https://press.founders.org/shop/truth-and-grace-tag-memory-books-book-1/

“What does Christ do for His people?

He does the work of a prophet, a priest and a king.

Why is Christ a prophet?

Because He teaches us the will of God.

“No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known." John 1:18 ESV

Why is Christ a priest?

Because He died for our sins and prays to God for us.

“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1 ESV

Why is Christ a king?

Because He rules over us and defends us.”

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son…” Colossians 1:13 ESV

Glory to God Alone!

Children in Uganda finished their 2022 academic school year last week. They are now on their end of year/Christmas holiday break. Students will start their 2023 academic school year sometime between mid-January and early February.

I met with a few of the P7 kids today for Bible Study. Thankfully, we get to meet many times before I head to the U.S. in mid December. To start off Bible Study today, the children had a pop-quiz over the questions we have answered the last two or three times we met. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners received a medal for section 4 of 2022 DLM Bible Study. Another pop-quiz will be coming up again before we finish. :) We then continued with our questions in the Truth and Grace Memory Book: Book 1 by Dr. Tom Ascol. We also read the ten commandments in Exodus 20:1-17.

Here is a video of some of the questions. Of course, Bible Study wouldn't be complete without a snack. This time, we had a banana, too.

Love these kiddos and will surely miss them when the year and our time together comes to an end.

We had some excitement today! Living in the capital city, I never expected to see a monkey in my compound. It’s not every day that you see a monkey in the capital.
