DLM Newsletter August 2022

Since our July 19th Appreciation Dinner and Special Announcement Event announcing the $996,000 building plan for a DLM ministry home and boarding school, God has provided $35,000 through generous givers including many of you. This amount along with previous donations has allowed us to drill two wells, bring power to the property, construct a pit latrine, and construct the foundation of the ministry home in the coming weeks.

Our prayer team leader shared this with us this week...

"There is something I have especially had laid on my heart to pray for this week. DLM needs a lot of money to proceed with future building and needs. "And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19"

Today, we made a visit to the home of two of our sponsored kids. It was a joy to see them and their jajja! This family has a genuine appreciation for the way God has blessed them through our educational sponsorship outreach! Glory to God alone!

We treated Mama Fab to lunch at the nearby mall. We always love seeing her.

We also enjoyed celebrating Gabe’s first birthday that evening with our traditional American meal of hamburgers, baked beans, and chips! We also had a Ugandan birthday cake for him.

We enjoyed a great time of fellowship with our Bible study kids. Ashley and Mama had not seen these children since 2019. They are growing up so quickly and proved their knowledge of the truth with today’s activities. Glory to God alone!!

Mama Fab hosted lunch for us today. We enjoyed jackfruit, rice and beans, and greens. The girls, Julie and Maria, were sweet to help serve. Other pictures show various fruits: jackfruit, plantains, and avocados.

My friend's baby had her 2nd round of immunizations. In Uganda, immunizations for children are free of charge. She's feeling much better today!

Brian was on the property today and reported that power poles have been planted. Power will soon be available on the land. All Glory to God!!

Today is the first day of 3rd term at Jeholand Junior School where our sponsor children attend. Parents are required to bring their kids to school on the first day of each term; unfortunately, the majority of students do not show up. Students will stagger in throughout this week. By next week most students will be checked in, and school will be in full session.

Through the educational sponsorship outreach, Delight in the Lord Ministries purchased over 400 books (notebooks), over 100 blue ink pens and over 275 pencils for our sponsored children. We wrote the name of each child and the class on each book in preparation for distributing them today. The children were very happy to receive their supplies. As always, I remind them to first give God praise and then give thanks for their sponsors! We praise God for each of our sponsors!!! Glory to God Alone!!!
