DLM Newsletter January 2022

My journey to the States began on December 22, 2021 as I left my home in Uganda, Africa to spend Christmas with my family and to do ministry work stateside. My family and I enjoyed a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for the Christmas holidays and a short trip to Panama City Beach, Florida before jumping into work for Delight in the Lord Ministries.

One of our biggest events is the Annual New Year’s Resolution Run/Walk 5K that Brooklet Kiwanis hosts for Delight in the Lord Ministries. We had a small crowd this year but were blessed with many new sponsors who helped make the fundraiser a success. On Tuesday following the race, I was able to share with the club to give an update on the 5K and to share about the upcoming building plans for a ministry home and Christian primary boarding school. Thank you, Brooklet Kiwanis, 5K runners, and all others who made this event possible!!!

Every year, I am invited to share with the students in FCA and Builders Club at Southeast Bulloch Middle School. Both of these organizations sponsor a Ugandan child’s education through DLM. It’s always fun to share with the students from the perspective of a Ugandan student and to encourage these young people. I was also able to share with a homeschool family about Uganda and about DLM.

What a great opportunity to share with the Rotary Club of Statesboro for the first time. I was able to share about my journey and the ministry’s history as well as our upcoming building plans for a ministry home and a Christian primary boarding school.

I enjoyed fellowship with family, friends and many groups and was able to share a ministry update and show my appreciation to them for supporting DLM. Among those groups included two women’s Sunday School Classes and the congregation at Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro, the Sarah Miller Bible Study Group from FBC Statesboro, the FBC Statesboro Mid Week for Kidz Boys Grades 1-5, a local men’s prayer group, the Emit Grove Baptist Church Senior Luncheon, several Sunday School classes from FBC Statesboro, and the Trinity Baptist Church Women's Ministry. If you have a group interested in hearing about DLM, please email me at delightinthelordministries@gmail.com.

As per procedures for international flights, I tested negative for COVID on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 and headed out to Uganda on Thursday, January 27. Well, I am now back in Uganda, Africa, and ready for what the Lord brings to Delight in the Lord Ministries in 2022. This is our seventh year of ministry in Uganda. We purchased 17 acres in October and will proceed with fencing the property in February. Please join us in prayer as we embark on a building campaign to fulfill the vision of a ministry home and Christian primary boarding school.
